Design & Build co-ordinators will have a varied background covering anything from design, quantity surveying, architectural or site management.  

Duties will be varied and encompass coordinating projects both pre-contract & throughout the build. Liaising with architects, design teams and senior management is also essential to assist in bringing contracts to a successful completion. Assisting with risk assessments, methods statements and tender delivery is also a core focus of construction design jobs.

Progress your career into design & build management jobs

Successful design and build coordinators are highly motivated, have excellent IT skills and know how to be  effective communicators. Main contractor company experience is desirable as is a degree or equivalent.

Depending on the organisation and their size, many co-ordinators go on to take the next step into design & build management level jobs. However as they tend to be very technically minded and focused, this may be in a number of areas from construction to architecture or surveying.
